The Great Pyramid, not a wonder?

Right now, you can head to this site to vote for the new 7 wonders of the world. A lot of people are up in arms about this, most notably the Egyptians who think it is ridiculous that their cherished pyramid has to re qualify for "wonder status". They have a point. I think you'd be hard pressed to find anybody that would disagree that the Great Pyramid is still one, if not the, most magnificent structure ever created. After thousands of years, it's still standing, something that can't be said about the other original 7 wonders. So, let's just get this out of the way: the Great Pyramid should be on this list no matter what. The fact that the pyramids are given "honorary" status, yet you can't vote for them is inexcusable. I understand this group wants a brand new list and that it's part of the fun, but c'mon..these are the pyramids we're talking about here, folks!

But really, aside from that grievous mistake, this drive to name a new 7 wonders is pretty cool. I have no real problem with it because it can only help bring more attention to some of the most beautiful creations on the planet. So, go vote and let you opinion be heard. I know you're all wondering who I voted for:

The Acropolis, The Roman Colosseum, Machu Picchu, The Taj Mahal, The Great Wall of China, Angkor, and Hagia Sophia.

And if you're interested, here's the original wonders
